Laura Crane: “Surfing Is The Sexiest Sport”
UK heart throb, Miss Laura-Lou Crane, wants you to have good table manners.
Approaching a top-shelf lady is a nerve wracking venture, especially when the person you are messaging is European surfing’s femme fatale, Miss Laura-Lou Crane.
Thankfully, Stab has good relations with the 23 year-old. Laura’s outgoing personality and mantra meant that she has been a fan of our female editorial for a while, the big- and bright-eyed Crane never shying away from showing a little sun-kissed and paddle-toned skin herself.
“Female surfers aren’t the skinniest models in the world—we all have a set of shoulders—so it’s good for other women to see that you don’t need to be stick-thin, or perfectly pampered, to be beautiful and sexy.” Laura told Stab, nearly three years ago.
Today, she’s still a firm believer in that mentality – as you will see below.
Whilst on her way to the US, Laura-lou was kind enough put down The Secret, crank up her favourite Childish Gambino album, and lend us enough of her time to answer our questionnaire/gentleman’s checklist, to accompany her moody photoshoot with Paulo Simõnes.
Laura hit us with the enticing series of black and whites, her powerful gaze staring straight down the lens.
Take notes gents, Laura is about to give you a lesson on how to treat a professional female surfer. Turns out table manners go a long way:

Stab: Laura, thanks for taking the time to tackle this on your flight. Let’s start by finding out the place you currently call home?
Laura: Right now, I am living In Ericeira, Portugal. It is the BOMB. Since moving back I have been surfing more than ever.
Who are your main sponsors?
These days I’m riding for Nixon, Fourth surfboards, Xcel and Jam traction.
Have you been travelling a lot recently?
I’m currently writing this on a plane back from the U.S, so yes. I went to Vegas for a few days and then spent two weeks cruising in California with some of my favourite people. Aside from this trip though, I have been travelling Europe for the last few months and hopping backwards and forwards to London for work. That’s the hard part about living in Portugal, I never want to leave.
Is it creepy if we ask what you had for breakfast this morning?
[Laughs] No. I had a stale turkey and cheese sandwich on the plane from Lisbon to New York …. I don’t recommend it for breakfast!
Sounds delicious… For the guys sitting in our comments section, can you describe your perfect man?
Well, he would have to surf, but doesn’t need to be a pro surfer. He would have to make me laugh. He needs to be thoughtful. Not too much of a clean freak. Doesn’t mind being late. Likes to travel. Has good manners – yes boys, this includes table manners. But, most importantly he needs to be a gentleman.
Ok, we’re not sure about the commenter’s table manners, they’ll likely need to work on that one. What about the best vs worst date you’ve ever been on?
Once I was taken on the first date to see Rihanna, sitting in the VIP section – that’s how you set a standard boys! And the worst, well, I like a surprise, however, don’t ever take me to a salsa bar to show me how talented you are on the dance floor, it really isn’t my thing.
Liquor of choice?
Red wine! All day, everyday!
Three best things you have seen on the internet recently?
Will Smith recreating his son’s music video, Cardi B on Jimmy Fallon interview and Kylie Jenner’s baby video.
What’s the weirdest DM you have received? It can’t be ours!
No way! I did get one that read, “If you send me all your dirty laundry I will wash it for you and send it back if I can keep one item each time?”
If you could be doing anything right now what would it be?
On a boat trip in the Maldives with all my best mates!
Turn-offs?
Salsa dancing and poor shoe choice – flip flops, sandals and walking shoes are the worst culprits.
What is romance to you?
Romance for me is back massages, holding hands and breakfast in bed.
Ever been on a blind date?
No.
Favourite part of a man’s anatomy?
The eyes, the lips and a set of abs.
Is surfing the world’s sexiest sport?
I went for years trying to fool myself that it wasn’t. But in the end, yes! Surfing is the sexiest sport.
And finally where is the perfect romantic getaway?
I have had a location crush on the Philippines for the last year, so that would be pretty top to knock off my list this year.
