GQ loves Ashley Osborne

Gentlemen’s Quarterly has put divine better half of Julian Wilson, being Ash Osborne, up in lights. The gallery, shamelessly pulled from @ashley_O’s Instagram, includes various shots from shoots around the globe, and even a few from your chums at Stab. The mainstream is clearly kinky for surf, again, and the accompanying interview is beautifully random; which leads us to believe that GQ are testing whether their male readers can make it south of the gallery to hear what the lovely Ash has to say. Hey, hey, eyes up here buddy. Here’s a snippet: GQ: Music playing during sex – yay or nay? Ashley: Yay… As long as it’s tasteful. GQ: What’s the best advice you’ve ever received? Ashley: Be yourself, and don’t worry what other people think of you; they aren’t worth worrying about. GQ: How has Instagram helped your career? Ashley: In the beginning, Instagram was quite overwhelming for me. Now though I see its positives and I’ve learned how to make it work for me. Going overseas a lot, I used to be afraid that clients would lose interest in me, but Instagram helps show what I’m up to and reminds clients when I’m in town. GQ: How did you meet your (pro-surfer) boyfriend Julian Wilson? Ashley: I ran into Jules a few times out and about and there was always a strong connection between us. We finally connected properly in Byron Bay and fate was definitely on our side when our paths crossed that third time. GQ: What’s something you’ve learned from him? Ashley: Jules has taught me a lot, mainly to be kinder to myself. In my industry you get criticised a lot. I think people think it’s just part of the job but it still sits with you when the shoot’s over. Spending time with Jules has helped me to not be so hard on myself. There’s more to me than my exterior and it’s important to remember that. *** If you’ve made it here, firstly, well done, the moral compass is strong in you. Secondly, get ready for surfing to be populating the non-surf newsfeed. We’re flavour of the month again. Great! Read the full GQ interview here. Enjoy Stab‘s work with Ash here. And, discover the Stab in the Dark board that Matt Biolos made for Julian, here.
