Thom Pringle, Alex Lefts on the Sunshine Coast, Australia

Is it wrong to have a thang for white edifices, peachy sky, brown water, and a moment of Thom Pringle flair amid the monotony of a Sunshine Coast afternoon setting? If so, then guilty as charged. This shot of Thom, taken by photog Matty O’Brien, is at Alex Lefts late yesterday afternoon. According to Matt: “Anyone that lives on the Sunshine Coast knows that Alex is a fucked place to surf! It’s a shit wave and the crowd there is always hectic. But when the wind is 1000 knots southerly there’s nowhere else close-by to surf.” Matty has just returned from a non-surfing trip through the Middle-East, and this is the first surfing he’s shot since late november: “Shooting through the Middle-East was an amazing experience,” he says, “I met some very unique and interesting people and visited some of the oldest sights and cities in the world. The Middle-Eastern people are so nice and welcoming its a shame that most people think the Middle-East is dangerous.”
