“This is from a few days ago when we had an insane session with Jack Freestone, Mitch Coleborn, Kai Hing, and Oliver Kurtz,” recalls photographer Tom Carey on the photo above. “Mitch is pretty gnarly and was getting really inverted. The swell was pretty unruly but it made for some mongo ramps. Someone would attempt an ankle breaking air on every wave, then get slammed on the paddle back out for the next 5 minutes.”
