Mark Healey, proud home-owner, Pupukea hill, Hawaii
Mark Healey’s a man of Hawaii. He rides big, scary waves, takes the world’s best wipeouts, swims, fishes, dives with sharks, catches fish with his hands, all that awesome, manly stuff. And, he just bought a new crib! “The guy moved from a rental down near Sunset Beach into a house he bought up on top of Pupukea hill,” says photog Ryan Miller. Exciting, sure, but the set-up is still a touch shambolic. “Oh, the joy of home-ownership. He had bathrooms pulled apart and power tools stacked in every corner. All of his personal belongings were still in boxes, stacked high in the living room and garage. He’s been looking for his coffee grinder for days and still can’t find it, so he’s been going without coffee in the mornings.” The joys indeed. Sounds a little inconvenient, but when you’re a man of simple pleasures like Mark, you know how to prioritise. “No coffee,” continues Ryan, “but definitely not without fishing spears and yard tools. These things were unpacked and carefully hung up so he knows exactly where they are.” You really do gotta prioritise in life, huh?
