Ah, golden hour. That small window of opportunity when the big golden ball meets with the horizon and transmits all sorts of chaotic colours across the sky. Add to the equation an artificial flash and an energized young gent by the name of Liam Mortensen, and you are presented with the above scene.
“Liam is a freesurfer grom from Avalon in Sydney, and he is always keen to shoot,” says our shutter man Peter ‘Bosko’ Boskovic. “This day he drove up from Sydney because I told him the light would be nice to shoot in the afternoon with flash so I could light him up without losing the natural sunset. This was the only hook up we got in an hour, the old Metz flash never lets me down.”
