Kolohe Andino fits in at the US Open like hand in glove. The kid’s main sponsor, Nike 6.0, is one of the event’s three main backers (along with Converse and Hurley), and the crowds lap ‘Brother’ up everywhere he goes around the site. Today he placed second in the Pro Junior, right behind Brazilian Filipe Toledo and just ahead of John Florence and Conner Coffin. What a line-up for the junior final, huh?
Yesterday, in his heat with Dane Reynolds and Yadin Nicol in the prime event, Kolohe threw this pristine frontside air-revs (and stomped it), scoring a 9.07 for the single move. Despite the land he lost out to Dane Reynolds, who he’ll again face in the quarter finals.
