Koby Abberton, foot on the pulse in Sumbawa, Indo
Life would be pretty ideal if you were somewhere in Indo right now. You’re already well aware that the largest swell of the season is currently bearing down on the Indonesian Archipelago, but prior to the arrival of the big purple blob, Koby Abberton was capitalising on two earlier swells that quietly strolled into Sumbawa. “It was the first of three swells coming to Indo in one week,” says photog Mauricio Zina. “Super Sucks was very crowded, but the bigger waves were only being surfed by a few Brazilian surfers and Koby. The water was crystal clear, the light was perfect and Koby was surfing incredible – strong and clean – and always imposing respect.”
