So what’s going on here? First y’got Kelly Slater, hanging his wetsuit up to dry in the competitors area at the Rip Curl Pro, Bells Beach. Then y’got two rascals, Coco Ho and Laura Enever, teasing the champ, boxing with him, making faces while his back is turned then acting normal when he turns around to face them. Then y’got Kelly’s gal, Kalani, (who you can’t actually see in this shot) trying to snap photos of the rascals pulling faces so she can show her man. Shortly after this, the champ made some uncharacteristic judgement calls in his quarter-final against a blistering Adriano De Souza and couldn’t get past the Brazilian. Hell, the man’s still human. But will this be the sting that puts Kelly off competition, or will it serve as motivation to bounce back? Knowing Kelly, probably the latter – but only time will tell.
