The Sunshine Coast’s new hope, Kai Hing, jumps in the sun with cockle-warming vitality. “This was a pleasant afternoon at Mooloolaba,” says Kai. “Mitch Coleborn, Oliver Kurtz and I were doing whip-ins on Mitch’s jet ski. The boys were on the beach swapping boards, and to pass the time I stroked into a little wedge. Tom Carey pressed green and hey presto, it’s a cool shot, I’m rapt on it!”
