John John Florence peels under Backdoor, Hawaii

John John Florence was obviously a standout at the Volcom Pipe Pro today. “It’s really fun, but it’s a lot harder now than it was even this morning,” he said after his second heat. John knows Pipe conditions better than anyone: “I said it earlier, it seems like the swell is going a lot more north, kinda seems like it’s been doing it all day. It’s funny, you’re sitting at Pipe and and it’s almost flat and you’re watching like six-to-eight footers at Off The Wall. It’s really weird and hard to wrap your head around.”

But the event wasn’t at OTW, it was at Pipe and Backdoor, and John made the most of both. Would you just look at the water in this photo? Probs not an awful view in there.
