John John Florence, pictured here, is a champion of the nosepick, and how about that front foot work through this sequence? Leaves board entirely, lands way up nose, buries in and takes all body weight, then holds on for recovery. And, not only is it incredible to watch, but John’s turn here has powers of attraction! “The waves were so bad yesterday morning and empty,” says the sequence’s shooter, Mr Thomas Carey. “John was the only guy out early at gums, but once everyone saw him out there doing stuff like this, the droves came out of the woodwork.”
