Hello, South Africa! In nine days, your internet connection and betting account will both take hits, care of the next world tour event, the J-Bay Open (yeah, no sponsor, but isn’t it something to have jerseys in that particular lineup again). Until then however, and if you need your kicks more frequently, there’s always the Mr Price Pro in Ballito, happening at the minute.
John John Florence is on the ground, but not for the Ballito event. Mr Florence landed in Cape Town last week and has been kicking it with good pal (and immensely-figged gent) Frank Solomon. “John John wasted no time in getting adjusted to the chilled waters of the atlantic and kicked the jet lag with a two-and-a-half hour session on Friday arvo,” says the shooter of this dime turn (like, on one!), Anthony Fox. “He carved and boosted all over the lefts and rights of this tucked away Cape peninsula beachie with Frank, his brothers Nate and Ivan, and Jamie O’Brien for good company. John ended the session with this solid turn just before the sun sank below the horizon to finish his first day back in South Africa.”
