Joel Parkinson won the Rip Curl Pro, Bells Beach last year. And, twice before that in ’04 and ’09. Of any pro on the world tour, Joel’s personal website has had far more Bells-related posts than anyone else’s (seven, actually). So, suffice to say, he’s excited. He and pal Mick Fanning lit up Winkipop (the next point down from Bells) during a freesurf yesterday, which is when photog Ryan Miller fired-off the shot y’see here. Adjusting to a fullsuit and warming-up an already very-polished rail game was the session’s agenda. With the waiting period starting tomorrow and murmurs of a swell filling in, y’reckon Joel will be looking to make it two in a row?
