No, Gabriel Medina did not pull this particular backflip. But, he has most definitely been trying to perfect the move. Whether he knows it, kid has taken a skate approach to the water on this one – repeat, repeat, perfect. You’ve seen him stomp two. Two very good, well-documented flips. The first was small but excellent and the second was monstrous and amazing. He tried a couple of times in this session to land another, but the trick requires the perfect section so there ain’t always opportunities. Do we dare imagine one of these on the end section of Pipe after being spat outta a cave?
