Dane Reynolds returns, La Graviere, France
Dane Reynolds returns, La Graviere, France Dane Reynolds is back. This morning, the Venturan surfed his first World Tour event of the year, the Quiksilver Pro, France, having missed the first fistful of events due to ankle injury, then the latter couple due to rib injury (and some in between for whatevs reason, like, losing interest). In the dying minutes of his first round heat against Owen Wright and Chris Davidson, Dane took off on a walling wave, bogged the first bottom turn, then raced down the line to blast this slob full-rote air-revs, earning an 8.33 on the buzzer. It was more than enough to put him in front of Davo (who totalled 2.50 points), but Owen won the heat by 0.34 points. Dane then bounced back in round two, beating Adriano De Souza and advancing to round three. Imagine, just for a moment, if he actually won this event. Doesn’t surf a contest all year then wins his first one back. Wouldn’t that be something? The best part is, it ain’t impossible. For more of Ryan Miller’s awesome work, jump over to his site, here.
