Carlos Nogales, curtains closed window open, Mexico

Just when you thought you’d seen it all from last week’s session at Puerto Escondido, photographer Camila Neves baits us back in with this transfixing angle of Mexican tube pig Carlos ‘Coco’ Nogales. “The swell was straight south and really consistent,” recalls Camila Neves. “This is what you need in Puerto to have giant peaks, just like the one pictured. It was pumping for three days non-stop and a lot of good surfers showed up. The crowd… yeah that was ridiculous. I’ll be here shooting until October.” Another four months in Mex? Yeah, why not.
