There’s something fiercely hypnotic about a wide-angle perspective of a well-timed forehand gouge. Particularly when the foreground is filled with the textures of a yet-to-be-disturbed, turquoise lip, under a brilliant blue sky. Drop Beau Foster into the equation and you have yourself a very pleasing image. Beau just completed a 14-day tour of Australia’s East Coast with the Metal Neck crew, made up of Andrew Doheny, Metal Jimmy and photographer Tom Carey. “Beau is such a nice kid,” says Tom politely. “I thought he might have been in a little over his head in the beginning of the trip. But he turned the party mode on and hung right in there with the Metal Neck crew. Not an easy task.”
