A Break In The Drought, Western Australia
Celebrating the end of a spell of poor conditions in the Australian south west.
It has to be one of the west’s most entertaining sand-bottom drainers. The wipeouts here are truly fantastic. Dig up your old Taj Burrow VHS stash (Montaj anyone?) if you want to see it ridden well. Captured on a shining day, in the right light, this stretch can also make for pleasant still image viewing.
“I shot this at the start of spring in the South West of WA,” said lensman Joel Nankivell. “We finally had a nice run of offshore winds and a solid ground swell after what felt like an eternity of onshore conditions. There was no one in the lineup this day and there were glimpses of the epic bank that showed it’s face during winter.”
