Wild Boar Attacks Hawaiian Surfer At Oahu Point Break
“I pushed the board between the pig and I and it bit my board!”
Surf Boar’d.
Ingrid Seiple, a Hawaiian surfer and strength and conditioning coach made news headlines yesterday after surviving a vicious attack from a wild boar.
Ingrid was surfing at Kaena point on Oahu’s westernmost-tip when she spotted a dark shadow nearby. “I saw something floating and I thought it was a Hawaiian Monk seal,” explains Ingrid in an interview with KITV4. “Then I thought it was a log. The log got closer and closer, and then the head came up and I realised it was a pig!”.

“The pig saw me as I realised it was a pig, and I saw it see me realise it was a pig. I was pretty shocked because this pig was very close, so I pushed the board between the pig and I and it bit my board!”
Shaken, Ingrid paddled for the shore, whilst pig, disorientated from a mouthful of T&C fibreglass, swam for the horizon.
“Next thing I know pigs will be flying,” jokes Ingrid.
Stay safe out there folks.
