When The Car Breaks Down, Grab The Ski
Zac Haynes pursues ‘Blue Mist’ in southern Australia.
It’s funny the different styles of road trips one can undertake in the name of surf.
You can go in guns blazing, pack six dudes in an RV for two weeks, eat ashes, film an emergency bathroom break, and sing on stage with Pennywise. Or, you can go Towner family style and enjoy smooth tunes and heaving surf across an entire continent.
While we can’t speak on bathroom stops, Zac Hayne’s roadie style as shown in his edit Blue Mist aesthetically errs more toward the latter. A solid bloke hitting the road with just his dog, an old Yamaha and “a car that runs so hot it turns coolant to steam.”
Faulty mechanics doesn’t seem to slow Zac down, though. This clip, edited by David Ebbott, highlights his fruitful exploits on Oz’s southern and western coasts. Zac looks very nonchalant running down playful points and stalling at the bottom of several mutants. Very blue water. Very misty offshores.
Hit play above to enjoy Blue Mist and start planning your next road trip.
