Watch: Caity Takes The EAST-Winning Lovelace To Oceanside
And (almost) loses her next world title to a Stab staffer
I’ve dodged writing this piece more than any parking ticket — ignored a formal complaint (hi Mikey), and even tried to pawn it off on someone else — but today Slack won.
It’s not the usual dilemma where the sentences keep itching without actually coming to my head. The edit is great: fun, Toasted, Oceanside-youth-cult-meets-trailer-posh. The problem is the part where I burn the World Champ, then almost cut her legs.

But let’s focus on the ups.
“Blewse” tracks the 72 hours Toasted editor Guilherme Martins spent in Oceanside for Caity’s Blouse premiere—before flying back to Portugal with what felt like appendicitis.
Gui is every surfer’s dream filmer and an even better friend— the kind who carves out two weeks every year to run through sticky Roman streets like springbreaker’s first time in Ibiza, and still manages to get the odd clip.

Although we couldn’t match the old world’s wine experience, we did introduce Gui to one of California’s finest cultural scenes — the testosterone-fueled, neck-snapping, sweat-soaked mosh pit.
Straight off his flight, Gui met us at a Social Distortion show and filmed soulful openers The Bellrays—until security nabbed his handycam.

Between plotting a New Year’s party—premiere, mosh, tees, venue—we squeezed in a couple of insignificant if (mostly) pleasant sessions in Caity’s hometown. Please ignore the collision at 0:23. Get more of Caity Simmers on the Dave Rasta winning EAST replica we ordered for Milk & Honey, plus Stab High standout Timo Simmers and a light dose of teen spirit above.
