The VF Foundation To Donate $150k Towards Wildlife Restoration Efforts Following The OC Oil Spill
Plans to protect, restore, and conserve local ecosystems.
On October 2, a pipeline failure off the coast of Orange County caused at least 144,000 gallons of oil to spill into the Pacific Ocean and caused nearby beaches to close.
The impact of the incident was severe, as the slick extended from Huntington Beach to Newport Beach. Clean-up crews have been hard at work, removing oil from the beaches and helping affected wildlife. Birds and fish washed ashore, dead, and Dolphins were spotted swimming through the slick.
In response, Vans and the VF Foundation announced that they will be donating $150k to organizations protecting, restoring, and conserving the local ecosystems impacted by this disaster.
