Two Shark Attacks In The Same Day At Florida Beach
New Symrna locals bite a 12-year-old boy and a 71-year-old man.
While NSB is one of the most consistent surf spots on Florida’s east coast, it also earns its title of the shark attack capital of the world.
Jai Villamil, a Cocoa Beach grom who has been surfing for the last six years, made his first trip to New Smyrna Beach this week. Jai was surfing on Monday evening when a shark bit him on his leg. He’s undergone three surgeries thus far and has a fourth scheduled for tomorrow.
A 71-year-old man boogie boarding in the shore break at NSB was also bitten on his foot that same day, but his injuries were treated at the scene.
