We Crashed Mikey Feb’s Party

West African sounds, food, and waves delighted the senses.

On Wednesday surfers, skaters, and culture enthusiasts gathered at Brain Dead Studios in Los Angeles to experience the second coming of Sonic Souvenirs, á la Côte d’Ivoire. The first iteration of Sonic Souvenirs saw Mikey February win Stab’s 2021 Edit Of The Year, as judged by the top 50 most influential voices in surfing, and was an instrumental role in earning Mikey the number eight spot in the Top Male Surfers of 2021, only trailing surfers who competed in CT/CS events last year. Needless to say, the expectations for the follow-up film were high… and they were met.

Amongst the viewing gallery were an assortment of surfers that span the spectrum of wave riding, from high-performance rippers to “ride everything” enthusiasts, and from the most stylish of longboarders to go-for-broke wave thrashers. Needless to say, the entire spectrum found their way to the beverages and food, which was all West African catered, and let out some hooting and hollering for the latest from Mikey February and Blake Myers. Watch Sonic Souvenirs Cote D’Voire here.
