Of Course Mason Ho Found An Exposed Rock Slab In Portugal

If you have an ocean, and that ocean has rocks jutting into it, and those rocks create a semi-surfable wave, rest assured that one day Mason Ho will arrive on your shores (with Rory ‘rock crab’ Pringle in tow) and proceed to make you feel very silly for watching this spot for so many years and not paddling out.

Mason recently went to Portugal to compete in a Challenger Series event for a potential spot on the 2022 Championship Tour. While his run on the CS hasn’t exactly gone to plan, Mason has made the most of his time between heats, finding tubes and ramps where surfers typically do not wander.

Exhibit A: the novelty rock-reef pictured above. Watch as Mason paddles out solo, proves that the reward outweighs the risk, and inadvertently entices a healthy crowd to join him. What a shitty prize for a session well surfed.
