Nic Von Rupp And Another Wave You Didn’t Know Existed

But, like, approachable this time.

In 2022, Portugal’s Algarve region attracted 19.1 million overnight stays from visitors.

Not too many of ’em were lugging boardbags around.

The west-facing Algarve coast is raw, beautiful and attracts plenty of swell. The south-facing coast tends to attract more vacation-seekers who — despite knowledge, experience, and a long history of incidents — seem to always fail at taking appropriate measures to mitigate their skin’s contact with our sun’s damaging UVA and UVB rays.

It’s still pretty. But there’s rarely good waves — especially when you punch further east. It happens sometimes, though. And one of those times, Nic Von Rupp was there to prove it.

Here, he delivers another episode of Portugal Back-To-Back. We get da vibez, then we get da wavez. Shoutout to Algarve local and generally handsome man Luca Guichard for getting in the mix as well.

Surf-wise, it’s not quite barfing Supertubos, but you couldn’t look a loved one in the eyes and tell them it don’t look fun.
