Mikey Wright Combines Passions Of Beer Drinking & Lip Gouging Into A HP Shorty
The JS Schooner’s got foam up top and a pulled in tail.
Mikey Wright took two of his favorite things, schooners and surfboards, and stirred ‘em in a pot.
The JS Industries schooner model is Mikey Wright’s go-to in 2-10 foot. It’s the shape he was riding in all those mental Pretty Physics clips he dropped earlier this year (pointbreaks, wedges, and psycho Irish kegs). We won’t bore you with the tech specs, what you need to know is this: it’s a HP, high-volume shorty with the wide point pushed forward and a fair bit of kick in the rocker that smuggles the virtues of a bigger board (longer rails, more foam) into a more nimble shape.
Mikey’s not the only one on JS’ roster fond of a Schooner. Conner Coffin surfed the Schooner in different dimensions throughout the Hawaiian winter, from the smallest days at Rockies to solid Sunset – GQ cover boy and Chopes maniac Kauli Vaast claimed his latest batch of Schooners were the best board ever for getting barrelled at Teahupo’o.
Froth out here.
