Masterful Frictionless Tutelage With Surf Cowboy Ari ‘Krooky’ Browne

If you haven’t seen S.U.R.F. yet, you should. 

Featuring four of Byron Bay’s most colorful characters: Ozzy Wright, Jake Vincent, Soli Bailey, and Ari Browne, S.U.R.F was a surf TV show where four contestants competed in four challenges that relate to the everyday surfer’s experience for the chance of winning $10K and a shitload of glory. 

The Krookster aka Ari Browne, finished last in S.U.R.F., but not without first winning over the hearts and minds of viewers with his silk-spinning water-wizardry and endearing mystical charm. Ari might not be the most well known surfer of his generation, but he may well be the best frictionless surfer. 

Mollusk Surf Shop, a surfing institution based in San Francisco, Silver Lake and Venice Beach have released a three-part surf tutorial with Ari on how to ride frictionless boards. 

Concepts covered include: rail grabs, stances, and combinations.
