JJF’s Back Bby
Put $ on his head at Haleiwa.
Ever surfed Haleiwa?
One way ticket to spaghetti-arm-ville. Ungodly sweep that sucks you into the peak before splaying you out over shallow reef. Exhausting. Unpleasant. Don’t do it.
Dw bout rushing out after the contest on this one. Park up on the couch and enjoy the pros put on a show.
The Haleiwa Challenger runs from Nov 26 – Dec 7 and will see the return of JJF in his first event back in a jersey since G Land, where he’ll be shaking off the sea legs from his 8000 mile Hawaii -> Fiji nautical odyssey against 79 other gents hoping to scrape it into the CT cutline (he will be joined by fellow CT alumni: Ethan Ewing, Kanoa Igarashi and Griffin Colapinto btw).
Only seven spots remain on the mens side as Leo Fioravanti, Rio Waida and Ryan Callinan have all locked in their spots. On the women’s side only one spot remains (officially there’s two but Betty Lou is so far ahead she’s almost guaranteed. Plus, it’s her home break) as Caity Simmers, Molly Picklum and Macy Callaghan have all secured their bags.
Really though this is just a betting spiel, punters you can see Mikey C’s Betonline.ag picks below and Stab editor and Haleiwa Hellman Kuio Young’s picks in the video above. Nuff said.
Mikey C’s picks
John John Florence is a no-brainer and Zeke Lau is always a safe pick in Hawaii. Joao Chianca has also been gathering momentum. Potential dark horse pick there.
For the women, Caity Simmers and Alyssa Spencer are top of Mikey C’s list, giving coach Matt Myers the double nod.
