917 x Slowtide Make Plaid Wearable Again
Elevate your outdoorsy game with a $2000 prize pack
Slowtide partnered with Call Me 917 founder Alex Olsen to drop a plaid collection that has two towels, one blanket, and a cruiser board.
Olsen’s inspiration for the capsule materialized in a 99 cent bag used for laundry, proving that plaid works with everything— skateboards, bags, towels, and dad’s musty sweatshirt.
Plaid came from Scottish ancestry where the pattern stood a symbol of unity. Fast forward a centennial or five, plaid still alludes to a certain connectivity— the human desire to be in symbiosis with the natural world. Fittingly, the collection has been curated in respect to Mother O.
Alex Olsen explained, “We decided to take this plaid print and put it on a series of boards and then make them ever so like an old nineties technology. So they felt like plastic. And then now, we just turn them into towels made of recycled materials.”
The pieces from the collection are hardy, thick, and built to withstand all climates. Checkout the collection here before booking your SanO campsite for the weekend.
