Griffin Colapinto Is Who He Is
“I have finally figured out how to be me all the time.”
Griffin Colapinto has been on the Oakley train since he could hop over the Lower Trestles train tracks.
But it’s the distinct consistency of sharing his quirks, dreams, pitfalls and all-around headspace (which you can see in even greater detail in our recent film DNA: The Colapinto Brothers, below) while competing at the pinnacle of professional surfing at prompted Oakley execs to sign Griffin up for a new wave of exposure.
Oakley’s Be Who You Are campaign is a series of short clips in which professional athletes share introspective stories of authenticity and perseverance. To paraphrase some corpo speak, the videos are meant to encourage fans to share inspiring and unique stories. Basically, anything that helps them be the best version of themselves.
It’s a star-studded list that includes NBA All-Star Damian Lillard, American skier Mikaela Shiffrin, and NFL MVPs Patrick Mahomes and Lamar Jackson. Italo Ferreira and Julian Wilson also had a go.
