Florida Man Surfs For 31 Hours & Catches 638 Waves In Surf Bender To Raise Funds For Fruity ‘Light Spectacle’
It’s gonna be one hell of a light show.
60-year-old Floridian, Kurtis Loftus has just smashed the world record for the longest surf ever clocking an incredible 31-hours.
Steamrolling past 12-year-old Kandui resident ‘all-day Dylan’ Wilcoxen, all-day and all-night Kurtis’ surf bender commenced Monday at midday and finished on Tuesday afternoon.
In flagrant violation of good bender etiquette, Kurtis’ wife and family were brought along to witness the mayhem.
The motivation behind Kurtis’ blowout was to raise funds for Deck The Chairs, the ‘SeaSongs Light & Music Spectacle’ of which he is the founder, that will take place on Nov. 24 at Jacksonville Beach’s Seawalk Pavillion.
After returning to shore a little worse for wear Kurtis conceded, ‘I need to get some carbs, some protein, and some other things in me, but rest, family, and just be grateful.’
We’ve all been there.
Kudos to Kurtis for having a solid crack at 60.
