Distance Divided by Time = September’s COTM
Psychology, bowling balls, and 6000-year-old alien sorcery.
Recency bias is a cognitive shortcut where people give more importance and weight to recent events or information than to older, historical data.
In not copy/pasted from Google AI terms, our shoddy brains cling to new information, and old information can kick rocks.
In terms of COTM contention, this is unfortunate news. A Stab Premium member who prematurely-evacuates their best material in the first week of a new month, according to science, will be less likely to win, because a newer yet less legitimate contender will steal its thunder.
Respectfully, fuck science. Never touched the stuff.
When I blackmailed my way into this commentary leadership role, it came with the caveat that I would operate under the jurisdiction of fairness and democracy. Continuing that promise, here’s September:

A picture is worth a thousand words. Sure, but this comment used less than 100 to paint its own Boy with a Pipe.
This high velocity bowling ball of a remark bounced in just 48 hours into a 30-day war, very impressive.
Sometimes it takes someone else’s vision for you to recognize what is awesome, and I am now very much too a Yolanda Hopkins fan. I’m also curious about the career trajectory of someone who gets shot from cannons professionally. Is there an adult learner cannon?
Honorable mention, regarding Fudo:

Very funny, and more recent. Probably a winner if I operated how those dumb science bitches and Zordon wanted me to, sorry Chris. Once an oozeman, always an oozeman.
Oktoberfest soon, da!
Please don’t drive if you’ve had more than two glasses of purple hypno slime.
