Come Watch The Electric Acid Surfboard Test At Stab HQ
But first, let’s scrub Oceanside’s beaches clean.
If you’ve spent any serious time around salt water, you’ve likely seen a lot of trash.
It seems inevitable to watch pieces of garbage float by in the water, get wedged in the reef or be covered by sand. It’s sad and it sucks.
Fortunately, you can play a small part in a worldwide effort to rid beaches of the garbage plaguing our shores. Saturday is International Coastal Cleanup Day, and Stab is partnering with the Surfrider Foundation and Reef to host a beach cleanup from 9-11 a.m. on September 17 at Oceanside’s Buccaneer Beach.
Later in the day, Stab will be premiering the third episode of the Electric Acid Surfboard Test with Mick Fanning at 6 p.m. just a mile up the road at the Tremont Collective (407 Minnesota Ave) in Oceanside. In this ep, Mick will dissect boards from Peter Schroff/ Hayden Cox and Matt Parker/Joe Falcone. Those lucky enough to snag seats will also be privy to a sneak peek of the finale that reveals the winner. Don’t miss out.
Please RSVP with Surfrider for the beach cleanup here.
We’re well aware that when dealing with such a massive issue, one individual’s efforts are hard to measure. But collectively, we can do a lot of good. A cliché, but true for a reason. According to the Ocean Conservancy, which tracks its own cleanups on ICC day, more than 17 million volunteers have collected more than 348 million pounds of trash over the past 35 years. So grab those handy track pickers, get your feet in the sand and start digging. We’re in it for the long haul.
