“Athletes Have Quite Large Egos, They Want to Feel Like They’ve Achieved All The Glory By Themselves, Which Is Fucking Stupid”

At the Snapper CS event, Stab CUSP host and WSL commentator Stace Galbraith named Luke Cederman, aka RaglanSurfReport, “the world’s greatest surf coach.”

Raglan’s coaching efforts were put to the test in Cooly., and anyone in the public forum could see he was a clear standout. But does this make Luke “the world’s greatest surf coach?”

There are a few contenders in the mix.

Jake Paterson has a long list of accolades, which include helping Steph G to her seventh World Title and ushering hordes of young Qualifying Series surfers(Kanoa, Griff, Zeke, Leo, etc.) through the minor leagues and onto the Championship Tour.

Leandro Dora assisted Jack Robinson with his first CT wins and, perhaps more notably, guided Adriano de Souza to a World Title.

Mike Parsons basically mapped out the road to success for Koholoe Andino and Lakey Peterson.

Andy King played no small role in the World Titles of both Mick Fanning and (recently) Gabriel Medina.

And let’s not forget to mention Ross Williams, who coached John John Florence to multiple CT titles and nearly helped Tatiana Weston-Webb clinch one last year.

However, at 6’2, Luke Cederman stands out above them all – in both a literal and figurative sense.

“A lot of the coaches at this event are not as tall as I am, which gives me an advantage obviously because I can see over the crowd.”

Luke’s stature and dynamic hand-signaling humbles both rival coaches and competitors in the draw.

“A lot of professional athletes have quite large egos, so they want to feel like they’ve achieved all their glory by themselves, which is fucking stupid.”

Until the rest of the field can figure out how to implement a more ‘loosey goosey” approach, RaglanSurfReport will be playing the lead role.

* unfortunately we’ve received notice he is not offering privates at the moment
