Reminder: Cole Houshmand Is A 100 Kilo Spray-Hucking Unit
Plus half of the 2023 Challenger Series (probable) graduating class.
The richest 1% on our planet collectively own almost half the world’s wealth.
2% Surf owns almost half of the Challenger Series wealth.
With Cole Houshmand in 1st, Crosby Colapinto in 3rd, Kade Matson in 10th, and Jett Schilling in 11th, San Clemente has the top end of the CS surrounded (on e-bikes, no less).
In our recent interview with Conner Coffin, he explained what he perceives as the difference between a CS and CT surfer, stating, “It’s a pretty specific skill set — being able to throw full rotations when it’s bad and you get one section. But then, those guys often get on the CT, and a lot of it comes down to meat and potatoes surfing. There are big airs that go down, but you’ve gotta go blow-to-blow with anyone on the face of a wave.”
Though Cole Houshmand has defined himself as this year’s standout CS surfer, we have little doubt about his ability to break it down with the CT big boys. Case in point; the sheer volume of spray he throws above.
We’re looking forward to seeing how the whole crew fares next year, especially considering 2024 Finals Day may well be held at their home base.
Enjoy.
