A Canggu Beach Party Without The Hangover
Watch Kian Martin and Lee Wilson navigate a normal day at their local surf-tourism-disaster-area.
Without surfing, it’s highly unlikely that there would be even a fraction of the current Western population in Bali. Of course, that’s not to say that the entire population of expats is surfers — hell, most of them aren’t. It’s merely an observation on the genesis of the atrocity Bali has become.
Bali came into the Western periphery largely because of it’s position as a surf mecca. Does that mean we, the surfers, are responsible for the crockpot of influencer materialism and entitled confusion that it’s become?
Probably partially.
Doesn’t mean we can’t still enjoy the waves.
Here’s a clip of Kian Martin and Lee Wilson doing just that on CI’s Happy Everyday, while making fun of the chaos Canggu is now engulfed in.
We apologize in advance for any Speedo-related PTSD.
