5x World Champ + Olympic Gold Medallist Carissa Moore Gives Birth To Baby Girl
Olena Lililehua Untermann has cool parents.
One of surfing’s greatest, Carissa Moore—five-time World Champ, Olympic gold medalist, and all-around legend—has just added a new title: mom.
Moore and her husband, Luke Untermann, welcomed their baby girl, Olena Lililehua, into the world on Sunday, writing “Our little squish is here 🥹”.
Carissa officially stepped away from competition in January 2024, announcing her pregnancy just months later in August—fresh off an Olympic run at Teahupo’o, where she bowed out in the quarterfinals.
But retirement didn’t mean slowing down. In September, she paddled out at the Four Seasons Maldives Cup, taking on a crew of CT veterans—including Jeremy Flores, Taj Burrow, and Mikey February—while pregnant. Her performance at Sultans? Still elite.
In her 14-year career spanning 127 events, Moore has stacked 344 heat wins, 29 event titles, five perfect 10s, five World Titles, and one Olympic Gold.
But something tells us this latest victory—welcoming ‘Little Squish’ Olena—will be the sweetest one yet.
Congrats, Riss.
