With a lay-day called at the Rip Curl Pro, Portugal we figured we’d swing you another shot from the Jordy Smith, Johnny Florence and Dusty Payne session that went down at La Barre, Anglet on one of the Quik Pro, France’s lay-days. Too often, amazing surf shots fly under the radar or are overlooked for whatevs reason and that’s a bummer. ‘Specially when they’re shots like this. South-African Jordy Smith, fresh back from rib injury, wasn’t quite his usual self in France but had some moments of shining glory and did enough to get himself to the semifinals, where he ultimately fell to Jules Wilson. But Jordy’s presence in France replaced a gap that was missing in NY and at Trestles and boy, did we miss him.
