Photolyfe: Craig Kolesky

Welcome to PhotoLyfe, in which Stab’s favourite photographers answer questions about themselves with their own images. It’s that old picture-tells-a-thousand-words chestnut but with more colour and pop. It’s a way to cut out all the bullshit. It’s like jacking into the main vein of those who supply us with exquisite surf imagery every day. Give thanks by studying each image with a more careful eye than ever! There’s three things you need to know about Craig Kolesky. Firstly, as he tells it, “apparently photography is not not a real job and some of my friends think I’m on a permanent holiday.” Secondly, in March 2015 he’ll be cycling his third Absa Cape Epic Mountain bike rice. And third, he’s scared of flying (“Really? with my job?”). But what Stab would add to the list of crucial information about Mr Kolesky’s existence, is that he is one of South Africa’s best surf photographers when he wants to be – once you’re done here, you should certainly have at some of the Full Frames he’s delivered Stab in the past.
