Yago Dora Delivers Your Motivation To Surf Today
Sparring with Narrabeen at all shapes and sizes.
This week had a strange start. Usually, when I crawl into the office, I’m greeted by an overwhelming list of surf edits that need word scribbling under. This Monday, I had none; Tuesday was pretty dry too.
Because of this, I’ve had little motivation to surf the past few days. A big part of my surf drive comes from watching professionals connect the dots on relatable waves. Then I, being a delusional little clown, slip into my rubber suit and head down the beach to poorly re-enact the same maneuvers.
Finally, a nudge to brace the knee-high crumble came from the skinny goat, Yago Dora. His 5-minute edit from a few sessions at Narrabeen was the exact thing I needed to straighten my hunched spine and step away from the keyboard. Were my cutbacks as smooth? No. We’re my top turns timed precisely? Not a chance. The sharp sense of false hope felt good, though. Thanks Yago.
