Stab Podcast: “It Seems Like There’s Not As Much Magic Around Surf Films Anymore”

This week Danny talks with Creed McTaggart; Creed fills us in on how he kept busy during quarantine to avoid those soul-crushing existential thoughts. He found comfort in music and even recorded his own 12-song solo album.
Creed also reflects on being a young kid in the spotlight. Talking on the mic while intoxicated isn’t the brightest idea, and Creed admits that some early interviews don’t align with his personality. Despite being perceived as a party boy, he is actually a pretty quiet person.

The other guest we welcome is writer Mitch Shepherd, who recently wrote an article Stab titled “Who Are The Most Influential Surfers In The World Right Now?”. Mitch breaks down the reach and engagement of top professional surfers and explains the analysis. Shepherd also emphasizes how cultural change comes from youth. After all, kids aren’t looking towards Kelly Slater when deciding what board shorts to buy.
