The term “bender” has been in used to describe a long bout of something — typically drinking — for centuries.
It traces back to Scotland in the 1700s. And it will lead us back to Scotland next month.
Lost Shore Surf Resort recently announced an event called the ‘Lock In.’ The gist? They’ve freed up 19 hours of pool time over three days in late November and want to get forty people together to enjoy it. You show up. You stay on-site (rave reviews, frankly). They cook you every meal. You surf your brains out with 39 people, some of whom you’ll almost certainly develop some form of kinship with. See the full agenda here.
We did the math and, during that time, their machine can create over 16,000 waves. Split among 40 surfers, that’s 400 waves per head. If you get 12 waves in a normal session, it’d take you over 30 to hit that number. Insane.
The cost is just over a thousand Pounds, or 1200 euros, or 1300 USD. A steal.
But for you, Stab Premium member? It’s free.
We’ve secured three spaces at the Lock In for our crew. All you’ve got to do is enter to win here and cross your little fingers. Winners will be notified one week from today, on November 4.
Godspeed.
