These Boots Are Made For Walking
Roark x Danner bring you tried and tested just in time for Winter.
A lot of collaborations don’t make sense.
With blockbuster brands willing to do anything to grab the attention of their tertiary demographics, collaborations offer an easy on ramp to do so. Unfortunately, the initial success of these collaborations has led to a watering down of the product quality they emit. However, Roark and Danner are here with a stunning capsule that honors the original ideas of the exercise, which is to say it’s as thoughtful as it is limited.
Despite the brand’s vast difference in age (Danner founded 1932, Roark 2010) the two have strikingly similar identities. With their philosophies centered around ideas of exploration, both have independently offered products that enable their consumers to do just that, continuing their legacies with the Ridge Boot and Axeman Jacket, both of which proudly boast Made In USA tag’s.
With Roark filming their soon to be released film ‘Arc of Aleutia’ in late 2019, Roark x Danner built these products specifically to handle frigid Bering Sea temps and terrain. The Ridge Boot, which is made at the Danner factory in Portland, are sure to peak the interests of boot enthusiasts the world over with their Goretex lining and Vibram soles. The Made in LA jacket features heavy cotton duck canvas and black pebble grain elbow patches that are a welcome departure from your American Lit Professors tweed cardigan. These two products carried Parker Coffin, Nate Zoller and recently turned hi-fi guy Harrison Roach through Alaska no problem, meaning they’re more than capable of standing up to your happy hour spillage in the cold winter of socially distanced outdoor dining that lies ahead.
The range is available on Roark and Danner’s sites as well as select global retailers. Click in now to find the perfect holiday gift for your chilliest family member, trust us, they’ll thank you.
