Is This Exactly What America’s East Coast Surf Community Needs?

“I want Erratic Nerve to be a legit media hub for this community.”

In 2021, South Carolina’s finest goofy-footer Micha Cantor lost his sponsors of eight years and suffered an ankle injury that kept him out of the water for months.

And, so, the talented aerialist scaled up hours working with his dad on their screen printing business and saved up cash to continue going on trips and filming.

To document these trips, he created Erratic Nerve.

“I think the goal of Erratic Nerve is just to build something for the East Coast community to be stoked on,” he says, in the above video. “I wanna get people pumped on something that’s from their coastline, give the groms something to be frothing on, and just build a legit media hub for my fellow East Coasters. Just a full on little passion project.”

Though Micha has already posted a handful of edits and short films to the channel, the above video is a sort of introduction — featuring surfing from fellow Atlantic soldiers Cam Richards, Bo Raynor, Evan Geiselman, Noah Schweizer, and more.

Think Chapter 11, but instead of the Emma Wood parking lot, there are fishing boats in the foreground.

“Erratic Nerve is for the East Coast, but I don’t want it to be a cliquey thing,” says Micha. “I want it to be for the up and coming kids who haven’t been getting exposure, I want it to be for the legends of our coastline. Maybe working class guys like me. California has towns where there are 20 amazing surfers, and that doesn’t exist on the East Coast.”

Sounds like a similar ethos to Ventura’s finest, right? So, will it work? Time will tell.
