Something Any Traveling Surfer Should Carry

An individual with a towel is someone clearly to be reckoned with.

Real quick, readers, let’s breeze through our pre-surf trip checklist.

We’ve got surfboards. We’ve got boardshorts. We’ve got wax, sunscreen, leashes, fins (and at least three keys for those sons o’ bitches). We’ve got T-shirts to protect from rashes and vaseline for when the T-shirts stop working. We’ve got Board Bandages for the inevitable dings, and we’ve got a waterproof backpack to jam all this into.

Now, pop quiz: what essential piece of cargo is missing from this dream trip puzzle?

waiting, waiting, waiting…

Wrong, you buffoon! Sun visors went out of style weeks ago.

What we’re missing is actually a lightweight, super-absorbent, quick-drying towel. And here at Stab, we find it hard to look past Slowtide’s newest offerings: the Cassady and Joaquin travel towels.

It’s 2018. Things have changed.

There are cars flying in space, mental handicaps in the White House, and you can hardly even assault people, sexually or otherwise, without getting caught by a million little cameras. So if you think that those old cotton beach towels with their grimy rust stains and weight fluctuation issues are gonna cut it for your equatorial dream trip… think again, buster.

In 2018, surf towels should be slim, seductive and sleek. And Slowtide’s travel series offers towels that do more than just dry you off. These micro-fiber body rugs can be used for very small picnics, large magic tricks, and stunning doormats for the bourgeoisie.

And best of all, their dual-print options offer something for most.

The Cassady towel embodies a groovy, tie-dyed aesthetic, for those who might enjoy an ayahuasca trip between sessions at Salina Cruz.

The Joaquin towel offers a modern shake on a classic South American color scheme, which would look fabulous hanging off your Harley while trekking down the coast of Peru.

If you’re tired of never-quite-dry towels, the extra weight they add to your board bag, and that god awful smell of dank, damp cotton, get yourself a Cassady or Joaquin before your next surf adventure.

Or like… right now.
