Scenes From The Electric Acid Surfboard Test’s French Finale!

And how you can watch it… now!

Late summer in France and the surf world’s focus is firmly on the Old World—it just seemed like the right way to finish off the Electric Acid Surfboard Test‘s two-month run of premieres.

Since July, Stab and our dear friends at Vans have been dragging the film, as well as the ten stunners EAST’s Sunshine Makers built for the project, and its star and co-creator, Dane Reynolds—from Brooklyn to Byron Bay, HB to SF, Southern London to Sarasota, and this last week, Biarritz and Siegnosse.

On Tuesday, after an afternoon of jaw-droppingly perfect La Grav, Cedric and the Shaper House crew welcomed the Acid Test to Biarritz with open arms, Al Knost and a handful of the Vans posse rolled in, staying a few weeks in the South of France, because, well—does that really need a justification?

While EAST‘s premieres have enjoyed some colorful crowds, we doubt they’ll take offense to our saying the French crowds have been absolutely the most gorgeous. Broody Bardots and Cotillards and Gainsborougs everywhere you turn your head, and all tuned in and turned on by Dane’s careful considerations of delicate curves, wide and narrow hips, etc…

Then last night, with events strewn about Hossegor, Vans hosted a double-header at St. Andrew’s Brewery, premiering the Gudang’s and Mikey February’s incredible new doc., Can’t Steal Our Vibe before EAST closed out the night

With Stab and Vans’ final premiere done and dusted, the boards are being packed up and brought back stateside as we speak. We’ll be rolling out The Sunshine Makers, a series of profiles on the shapers who put boards under Dane’s feet for the first Acid Test, with some morsels from EAST’s cutting room floor, and even more of Dane’s color commentary on the equipment.

Scroll through the gallery above, and head south, for a look at the film’s French finale (and watch the Electric Acid Surfboard Test here, now, for the price of a carne asada burrito and a horchata.)
