Jordy Smith, skyward at Salt Creek, CA
It doesn’t take much to get Jordy Smith’s big hulking frame out of the water, but buying a house in San Clemente can only be helpful. After setting up shop just a week ago, Jordy has been quick to capitalise on the many ramps on offer, much to the delight of local lensman Nick Green. “Expectations were high on arrival to Salt Creek from the previous day’s experiences,” says Nick. “But as we parked and started making our way down the hill we were greeted by gale force winds and cloudy skies. Our delusions of grandeur were crushed, but Jordy was ready to give it a go. As soon as he hit the water, it was like Moses parting the Red Sea. The sun came out, the waves came in, and this photo explains the rest.”
