Would you rather surf a bigger, longer, more “world-renowned” wave with 1,000 people for the chance of maybe scoring the wave of your life—or would you prefer a smaller, shorter, lesser-known wave with five people in the water, where you’ll have 100 supremely fun rides?

I’d have to imagine that the majority of unsponsored surfers would choose the latter option, and so did Brent Dorrington on the recent Cyclone Uesi swell. 

While his friends sold snake oil on the chocolate river of Kirra, Brenno headed elsewhere (please, no names) for smaller, less guttural, but exponentially less crowded tubes.
